Everyone interested in building this spring is waiting until after the New Year to get started. Almost every new homebuyer wants to be in their house so that their children can start the school year in August in their new school. Therefore, a large number of homes will break ground between February and April in order to meet this deadline. Because everyone starts at the same time, being a little ahead of the rush can mean a lot. Already our excavation and foundation contractors are telling us they have 30 houses on their current list. Some architects get so backed up that it often takes up-to two months to get a set of plans drawn. Although many contractors, including ourselves, are not busy right now, this coming year is forecasted to be busy for everyone.
Regardless if you choose to build with us or another builder, the further ahead of the spring building rush you are, the easier and quicker the construction of your home will be. Every worker and supplier starting with the architect will become soon be backed-up.
We are recommending that if you are interested in building this spring, and will need to meet the August deadline, to select a lot to build on. Preferably, put your lot on hold with a deposit. Then, it would be best to get into an architect right after New Year's to stay ahead of the rush. Although numerous homes are built every spring despite this rush, it will make the building process much more enjoyable for you as well as your Builder to not have the delays caused by the numerous housing starts.
We are more than happy to answer any of your questions regarding building a new home. In addition, we have the information on almost every development in the Toledo area on hand in order to help you find the perfect home site. |
